Mr. Michalis Liapis, Minister of Transport and Communications

                visited Japan from April 16^th until April 19^th 2007.

During his visit Minister Liapis met with the Minister of Interior and Communications

Mr. Yoshihide Suga, had long consultations with the Vice Minister for Communications

Mr. Hideo Shimizu, in which experts on both sides participated and explored the

prospects for co-operation in the field of telecommunications, including the use of

advanced telecommunication technologies for systems of early warning and management

of natural disasters. Minister Liapis met also with the President of NTT Mr. Norio Wada

and the Associate Vice President of NEC Mr Yoichi Watanabe.
