The Greek Wine Renaissance

On June 16, 2004 the Embassy of Greece in Tokyo and the food and beverage consultancy company Nippon Hellenica organised a wine tasting at the New Takanawa  Prince Hotel. The event was supported by the Japan Sommelier Association and was attended by 150 people.

 The Ambassador of Greece Mr. Kyriakos Rodousakis in his inaugural speech referred to the long history of viniculture in Greece and the achievements of modern Greek wine Industry. The event was greeted by Mr. Takashi Atsuta, President of Japan Sommelier Association.

 The presentation of Greek wines was made by Mr. Fotios Tziolis, Author of "Greek Wine" in Japanese.

The Greek wine tasting & Comments were made by Mr. Makoto Abe, Grand Sommelier, Japan Representative in the World Sommelier Competition Greece 2004.

At the end of the seminar more than 30 wines, Ouzo and Metaxa Grand Olympian Reserve (12 years old) were available for free tasting.
